she/her/hers
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
I changed careers from an elementary school teacher to therapy after my first child passed away from SIDS. It was at this time in my life when I first experienced individual therapy, which helped me get through a dark time in my life. It was then that I began thinking about changing my career path. My therapist, who also happened to be a bishop in the Episcopal Church, encouraged me to complete the Counseling Skills Certificate at the University of Santa Barbara, which I did. I received my first Masters in 1989 and worked as an MFT intern in a Middle School and a High School for five years. This was followed by employment as a children's social worker for Los Angeles County DCFS for more than 16 years. During the last year or so of social work, I decided to go back to school and re-do my Masters, which was followed by both paid and volunteer internships, which included an out-patient drug treatment program, counseling in an elementary school and high school, and providing therapy to children in intensive mental health treatment programs.

FAST FACTS
How do you take your coffee?
I have so much enjoyment for supporting local coffee shops! My go-to is a dirty chai with oat milk hot or iced depending on the weather and what I’m in the mood for. When it comes to Dutch Bros…just about anything!
What is your ideal Saturday?
Waking up around 8/9am to go for a walk with music, a friend, or simply silence. Then going to a coffee shop for breakfast and a latte. Ideally, I’d want to go to the beach with friends and hit up a farmers market and go dancing.
In my downtime you can find me...
Laying on my couch watching Bridgerton or Ted Lasso for the 100th time unapologetically.
If you could have dinner with anyone who would it be?
NIALL HORAN, my favorite boy band member from One Direction!
What has been your favorite trip you've taken?
I was able to take a trip to Egypt for my friend’s wedding. Visiting a new country and culture for their wedding was such a dream. To be there on their special day and explore a whole new world, I felt so lucky. With this trip, I had 7-9 hour layovers in Rome and Paris which have been bucket list places I’ve always wanted to visit. Getting those little sneak peaks of those cities makes me want to go back!
What is your favorite way to move your body?
I love doing yoga and casually kicking a soccer ball around. When my soccer career ended, I started doing yoga and it’s given me that pressure-free space to take care of me. I still love soccer, but running around for 90 minutes isn’t quite enjoyable for me anymore.

I wanted to be a police officer that made specifically short sleeve shirts and to be a mom of 9 kids. I no longer share this dream with my younger self, but I’d love 9 dogs!
Who or what is your greatest teacher?
Knowledge and research have been my greatest teachers. When fear has kept me from doing things, researching information and gaining knowledge has allowed me to feel comfortable taking more leaps. More leaps leads to more lessons which ultimately creates more growth. And I guess my big sister has taught me a thing or two. Love her!
What is the greatest thing about being a therapist?
Being able to be a part of so many people’s life stories!
In between sessions, you can find me...
Doing documentation, grabbing a snack, or a sweet treat!
